As a global city Sydney attracts all types of flatsharers from gap yearers to middle aged professionals that have moved for a job. Roompik ensures all flatmate seekers have logged in with Facebook providiging their background and life style along with where they want to live. This cuts out of unnecessary room viewings that occur when using other platforms. Imagine going from the Eastern Suburbs to view a flat in Manly only discover you didn't like the flatmates? What a waste of time that would be!
In our opinion there isn't much point living in Australia if you're not near a beach. That leaves you with two options with a workable commute. The Eastern suburbs of Bondi, Coogee, Maroubra etc or heading to the lower end of the Northern Beaches of Manly, Freshwater and Curl Curl. All of these suburbs are expensive but you could perhaps look at cheaper suburbs close by such as Randwick ,Balgowlah and Manly Vale. Living on the Northern Beaches has one of the best commutes in the world if you get the ferry to the CBD. Where else do you get the chance to see Humpback whales migrate and even potential breach whilst you're enroute to work from your flatshare?
Sydney is a lucky city. Only perhaps Cape Town and Rio can compete in terms of natural beauty of beaches and natural backdrops. On top of this it has a world famous bridge that looks like it was built at the peak of the industrial revolution rather than 1932 and skyscrapers that make you feel sure you're in a truly global city. Sure property prices are even more expensive than London but going to the beach is free here rather than spending money on booze because there is nothing else to do. If you're into the arts, the outdoor life or partying this city has it for you although lockout aws have dampened the partying somewhat. Just try going out in Camden in London after 2am, this is a common occurance in many western cities. There is simply no where better to flatshare than Sydney!
